Tired does not begin to describe how I feel today. I went away on a scrapbook weekend. I didn’t get much sleep. I was crampy because I got my period. I had to get up early (5 am!) this morning to work. To say that I need a nap is an understatement! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Rawr October 23, 2007
This year marks our 10-year anniversary. I bought Ray season tickets for the Chicago Fire. (Major League Soccer) We have been going to the games and having a great time. It makes a really fun date night and we both love the game. Ray has played it since he was about 4. I have never played it but have grown to love it through Ray.
On Sunday we went to the last home game, in which the Fire played the LA Galaxy. David Beckham plays for the Galaxy. He is one of Ray’s idols, and he has always wanted to see him play. It was so cool to be able to make that dream come true! As you may know, Becks has been injured, but he was able to see game time on Sunday. PHEW! And can I just say rawr?!! He is gorgeous.
As a bonus, the Fire scored the winning goal in literally the last few seconds of the game to clinch a playoff spot! Woohoo! We get to go to another game on Thursday!
Trick or Treat! October 23, 2007
As promised, here are some photos from our trick-or-treat excursion to Blackberry Farm. Our little kangaroo (complete with joey) was adorable as usual and had a lot of fun!
We buckled Shaelin (and joey) in for the ride.

Then we posed for a family photo near the scarecrow.

And then Shaelin felt that the scarecrow needed a hug…

It was a gorgeous day with lots of sunshine. What a fun family memory!
There is a God October 20, 2007
Of course, I already knew that, but…I am finally getting a much-needed break from work after about three months of non-stop projects! Sure, that might sound like a good thing (and it is), but I just couldn’t keep up at that pace. Now I’m back to a normal work load and I’m relieved!
This weekend we are taking Shaelin to a nearby farm to go trick-or-treating. I can’t wait! Pictures will definitely be posted next week. Just wait until you see her costume! That way, I don’t have to schlep her out on Halloween. She doesn’t get it yet anyway, so might as well take advantage of that while I can!
Sydney Jean! October 19, 2007

Sydney Jean arrived at 5:50 pm on Wednesday, Oct. 17th. She is soooooooo cute! Her mommy (my best friend Karen) went through 14 hours of labor and is my new hero. I was present for the entire thing and am reminded of what a true miracle birth really is.
Karen’s mom passed away in Sept. of 2006, she had a miscarriage in Nov. of 2006, and her grandma passed away in March of 2007. This girl needed some joy in her life, and here she is! Jean was Karen’s mom’s middle name and it’s also Karen’s middle name. What a precious sight.
I’m going to be an auntie! October 17, 2007
My best friend Karen is in labor! Her water broke at 4:30 this morning. I can’t wait to hear the news! She hates me right now because I had a 3-hour labor. What can I say…I was very fortunate! I’ll post again after the wonderful event! I’m hoping for a girl, but we shall see…

CALGON, TAKE ME AWAY!!!!!!!
Sick of being sick October 16, 2007
My husband has been sick for about a month. I feel terrible for him. But I feel more terrible for me. I’m sick of him being sick! Okay, that sounds really bad. But why is it that men turn into complete babies when they are sick?
Coco must eat October 12, 2007
I bought Shaelin her first real baby doll. And an outfit for it. And some bottles. And a stroller. Okay, I went crazy. But I can’t help it! I bought it all at Wal-mart, so it really wasn’t too expensive. She is sooooooo cute with this baby! I named her Coco because I thought it might be something she could say. Alas, she just calls her “beebee” for now, which is adorable.Shaelin LOVES to push this baby in the stroller. She will go up and down our sidewalk for hours if you let her.
Here she is feeding Coco. I just love the expression on her face. Something like, “Mom…do you mind? I’m trying to feed my beebee here.”
I just want to eat her up!
(Okay, someone help me on this inserting a photo thing. A thumbnail is too small and full size is too big!)
